Re-Memory

Read my new short story, Re-memory, in the new edition of Sentinel Magazine

"Old men sit in the courtyard, moving draughts pieces as local gin burns paths down their throats. The house itself sits like an old woman in the sun - faded clothing hanging loosely about her, the wrinkles on her face telling her years; her seldom open mouth, a dark, toothless, smelly cave - it has roof the color of coffee, the type one only ever sees when driving into Ìbàdàn. Layers of paint hang from the walls - blue from the last painting job 17 years ago, beneath that, cream peeks – kids peel off what they can, fighting about who can tear off the longest unbroken strip..."
